Construction of Darzeza’s Automobile Bridge

The ADF is following its project to build new bridges, which includes reconstruction and works for one of the bridges in the same place, where the existing Bailey bridge is located.

According to the field inspections, it was identified that the existing bridge had lost its stability, making it impassable and not guaranteeing safety, a place where the Bailey Bridge is temporarily placed until the construction of the new bridge. The existing bridge was built before the 1990s and it was degraded over the years due to the lack of refurbishment works, hence, the intervention has been deemed necessary in order to maintain and ease communication and movement in the area.

As part of the Local and Regional Infrastructure Programme, the Albanian Development Fund backed by the Albanian Government is implementing the project in order to build and reconstruct the old bridge, which connects Darzeza village to the city of Fieri. The new stable bridge, aesthetically correct and compliant with requirements of the time will not only guarantee security and convenience of movement for vehicles but also it will be in compliance with the reconceptualized programme on Fieri’s city centre, based on necessities and needs of the city.
