The sub-projects of the programme are focused in Berat, Korca, Fier and Shkoder and general municipal and transport infrastructure sub-projects across the country.

The Programme aims at tackling the issues hindering the tourism sector in Albania through investments both in infrastructure and tourist related businesses and helping the GoA achieve the objective of the National Strategy for Development and Investment to improve Albania’s competitiveness and economic growth through high quality and sustainable tourism.

The program has two components named below:

• Component A will focus on tourism competitiveness in four pilot territories Berat, Fier, Korca and Shkodra (“the Pilot Territories”).
• Component B concerns the transport and municipal infrastructure investments throughout the country aiming to boost local development and to support the implementation of the recently introduced territorial reform, as well as to support local MSME.

Albanian Infrastructure Tourism Enabling Programme (“AITP”, “the Programme”) aims to boost economic growth of Albania through high quality and sustainable tourism. This objective is closely aligned with the objectives of the National Strategy for Development and Integration (NSDI).

The Programme sub-components aim to:

• Improve the touristic potential of Historic and Cultural Heritage Sites (CHS),
• Improve touristic potential of Natural Sites (NS),
• Reconstruct Municipal Transport Infrastructure (MI).

The Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW Albania 2023) focuses on unfolding the potential of creative industries, diversifying alternative financing and strengthening the supporting ecosystem.

Throughout this week, several meetings and visits have been held in Korçë, Shkodër, Vlorë and Valias, with representatives of the ecosystem to discuss the support that the Albanian Government has offered to new enterprises and what are their future challenges and expectations. The ADF presented its initiative to build the so called “Development Centers” in each region, where technology, innovation and new ideas will be integrated, in accordance with the anticipated development for each region. These centers will mostly serve as a "hubfor the local entrepreneurial community.

The role of the Albanian Development Fund as an integrator is to create synergy and cooperation, in order to achieve positive and sustainable changes. While human well-being depends on the harmonious interaction and balance between the dimensions of life's reality (economy, environment, society, governance, and man), a "compelling new story" is emerging on how to design a desirable future for regions and areas of Albania.

Development regions, which are based on endogenous capacities and resources, are separate life systems and at the same time they are complementary to each other.

The interweaving of elements of life dimensions, relying on inter- and intra-regional synergy, is replicated and scattered in the territory, creating a functional profile.

The inclusive approach to Global Entrepreneurship Week 2023 serves as the leading path to innovation and economic development. Development as a whole, including Regional Development, is the product of the functioning of a dynamic and complex system, acting as a whole and aiming for growth and transformation.
