Currently, 40% of work is completed

Works are underway for the “Roskovec to roundabout of Poshnje segment”, a project which lies in the south-central region of Albania. It aims regional interconnection and easiness of access for future economic development.

The axis connects the most important potential touristic points in the regions of Berat and Fier.

The Albanian Development Fund, financed by the World Bank and in cooperation with the Albanian Government, it is developing one of the most ambitious projects, which aims to improve the existing road, facilitating of the cargo transport and shortening the travel time. Due to previous problems on the site and complaints of residents, slips and road damage were noticed, affecting road safety.

This axis, with more than 3800-4100 vehicles per day, is under rehabilitation process, maintaining in line with all construction standards. In the end, it will be fitted with all necessary infrastructural and signalling elements in order to be fully in function of both the residents and the vehicles.

Considering that the area has a plain and hilly terrain, agriculture and farming have a special importance to this area, so the intervention will impact on development and production on agriculture, agrotourism & livestock farming. Thus, the construction and rehabilitation of the road shows great importance, serving as a bridge for the whole south-central part of the country. Therefore, the segment affects and increases the revenue and quality of life.
