So far, have been completed about 35% of works.

This project aims to provide a final solution to the "problem of tour operators" through an underground parking with a capacity of about 300 seats, as well as the rehabilitation of public space, turning it into a pedestrian area for residents and visitors.

In cooperation with the AADF which has supported the preparation of a detailed project for the revitalization of the “Underground Parking and Revitalization of Çerçiz Topulli square”, in the Old Bazaar of Gjirokastra, the implementation will be carried out by the Albanian Development Fund which aims to manage the growth of tourist flows, at the same time bringing coherence to urban spaces without changing the cultural heritage of Gjirokastra.

"Parking in the historical area has been a constant problem. If you have to visit the Qafa e Pazarit, all the vehicles (buses, cars) would gather in the square, turning the latter into a parking lot. The parking will be with 3 underground floors, capacity 300 seats. In addition to the underground parking there will be some other additional interventions in the square. says Mr. Flamur Golemi, Mayor of Gjirokastra Municipality.

*There are 106 new businesses registered in Gjirokastra within this period and after the Urban Renaissance project.
