The Albanian Development Fund launches meetings with local government units in the four regions of the country.

TIRANA- The Albanian Development Fund held a meeting at the premises of Vlora regional unit, with representatives of local government of Fier, Vlora and Gjirokastra regions. The focus of this meeting was the regional approach to development programs and the establishment of a clear long-term cooperation for a greater impact.

This was the first introductory meeting and other regional meetings are to come by the end of January, with representatives of districts and municipalities from all regions.

Investment programs often involve many stakeholders, thus requires constant co-operation to combine the needs and interests of each of them in order to make the investments have a long- term impacts.

During the meeting, the representatives of the municipalities Fier, Patos, Mallakastra, Divjaka, Lushnja, Roskovec, Vlora, Himara, Saranda, Selenica, Delvina, Tepelena, Permet, Dropull, Libohova, Finiq and Konispol agreed to create a database of priority projects in the field of infrastructure, tourism and economic development with regional impact. The ADF will support municipalities in designing projects, finding funding opportunities and implementing them.

 


The coordinator of the Regional Units of the Albanian Development Fund, Ermira Mustafaj and the head of the ADF regional office in Vlora, Romeo Pasha emphasized that the ADF’s regional offices are a very effective instrument available to the municipalities to receive all the information and support for their projects. ADF counts a 25 year experience in development projects, thus have all the capacities to provide the necessary support from the draft phase to the funding and implementation.

This meeting was a great opportunity to present in detail the expected investments in the framework of the program "Local and Regional Infrastructure".

The ADF announced in December the first call for the municipalities that benefit from the program "Local and Regional Infrastructure", for regional development projects focused on improving road infrastructure between local government units and projects that serve as a catalyst for urban and rural revitalization.

ADF meetings with representatives of the local government units will continue aiming to strengthen the cooperation for projects and investments that bring economic development at regional level and positive changes for the residents.
