Tirana- Vermosh is part of Kelmend Administrative Unit. It can be reached via Tamara by car. This locality serves as an entry point for international tourists coming from Montenegro.It is characterized by the typical architecture of the Kelmendi Highlands. The dwellings are scattered and there is currently no consolidated settlement center. The site has natural resources as well as traces of historical events. Preserving natural and cultural values is primary for this area. The area has high environmental values and interventions should be well oriented in their protection.

The project for Urban Re-qualification and construction of Vermosh Tourism Center is implemented by the Albanian Development Fund in the framework of "Community Works IV program".

Interventions foreseen:

  • information center for domestic and foreign visitors,
  • accommodation centers

which will be followed by:

  • civil works and construction,
  • river bank protection, as the river of the same name passes through Vermosh.
  • construction of access roads,
  • urban furniture.

This area offers numerous opportunities such as;

o Outdoor hiking and mountaineering tourism (hiking, trekking);

o Tourism of parks and protected areas; (visits to nature monuments - geo-monuments, waterfalls, canyons, forests, rivers, streams, caves, green corridors; picnics; skiing, sleds, etc.)

o Agrotourism / Tourism of agricultural farms; (visits to agricultural, livestock and dairy farms; tasting of local products; participation in farm activities; harvesting of local agricultural products)

o Tourism of gastronomy and local products; (Attending bars and restaurants with local foods and drinks; buying local products; learning local specialty processing and preparation processes, etc.)
