TIRANA – Civil works on the Lot I of Myzeqe agricultural ring (11 km long) kick off, contributing to rural economy.

This infrastructural investment is implemented by the Albanian Development Fund in the framework of the “Rural Revival Program” and financed by the Albanian Government.

The new ring integrates the previous investments. The road connects Lushnja, Fier and Berat, and provides a sustainable infrastructure to 40 thousand inhabitants.

More specifically, the villages of Bubullima, Krutje and Fier-Shegan connect with the Lushnja-Fier and Lushnja-Berat highways.

The project foresees 2 lanes for vehicles, 2 m wide sidewalks and a lighting system in residential areas. The underground infrastructure for sewerage and lighting will be constructed from the beginning.

The entire area is about 6700 hectares of cultivated land, 189 hectares of greenhouses and 93 ha of trees. The ring will contribute to the rural economy and exports of an area where production grows at a fast pace.

This project, from the rural development point of view, provides lower production and sales costs, growth and diversification of agricultural production.

The construction of Myzeqe Agricultural Ring is foreseen to be completed in 2020.
