TIRANA-The overall goal of \" Regional and Local Roads Connectivity \" project is the investment in roads which have an impact on tourism and agriculture development.This project was launched today at the premises of Albanian Development Fund.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The executive director of the Albanian Development Fund, Mr. Benet Beci stressed in his speech that this program comes after a year and a half of preparation and is a Government initiative to fund the country's secondary road network especially in areas with tourism and agricultural potential.<\/p>\n

\u201cK\u00ebto rrug\u00eb q\u00eb do t\u00eb financohen nga projekti\u00a0 kan\u00eb n\u00eb fokus kontributin n\u00eb sektor\u00ebt e bujq\u00ebsis\u00eb dhe turizmit n\u00eb vend. Ata jan\u00eb t\u00eb koordinuar me programe t\u00eb Qeveris\u00eb p\u00ebr nxitjen e turizmit bregdetar e malor, por edhe t\u00eb turizmit rural e agrop\u00ebrpunimit, duke qen\u00eb t\u00eb koordinuar edhe me programin e 100 fshatrave. \u00cbsht\u00eb e r\u00ebnd\u00ebsishme t\u00eb thuhet se investimet jan\u00eb t\u00eb nd\u00ebrthurura me nj\u00eb s\u00ebr\u00eb programesh investimi t\u00eb Qeveris\u00eb e donator\u00ebve,\u201d tha z. The representative of the World Bank in Albania, Mrs.Maryam Salim noted that the reconstructed roads will promote the development of tourism and agribusiness in the identified areas, and will support the beneficiary municipalities with technical assistance according to their needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an important program that will contribute to improve access to selected agricultural and tourism centers, and will strengthen selected project municipalities\u2019 capacity to manage their road assets, \u201c said Mrs. Salim.<\/p>\n

This program is built on two main pillars: reducing the time and cost of travel. Tourism centers will have an extensive increase and the access of agricultural producers to markets and agro-processing centers will be easier. Beneficiary Project Communities is estimated to be about 80,000 inhabitants.<\/p>\n

Projekti do t\u00eb financoj\u00eb investime n\u00eb rrjetin rrugor kryesisht n\u00eb zona t\u00eb nj\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00ebsie t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb\u00a0 nga k\u00ebndv\u00ebshtrimi i zhvillimit t\u00eb turizmit. Me konkretisht kredia do t\u00eb financoj\u00eb nd\u00ebrtimin e rrug\u00ebve: Pogradec-Tushemisht n\u00eb bashkin\u00eb e Pogradecit, Qarku Kor\u00e7\u00eb: Fier \u2013 Seman n\u00eb bashkin\u00eb Fier dhe rrug\u00ebn \u00a0Qaf\u00eb Thore \u2013 Theth q\u00eb kompleton lidhjen e Thethit me rrjetin rrugor t\u00eb asfaltuar.<\/p>\n

It is possible that the loan may also fund other segments. Regarding this my colleagues will provide more detailed information. Besides direct investments and supervisory costs the project, includes building municipal capacity to manage and maintain road networks, in order to maximize the benefits of tourism and agriculture as key sectors of rural economy.<\/p>\n

P\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb arsye vitin e kaluar FSHZH u k\u00ebrkoi t\u00eb gjitha bashkive t\u00eb d\u00ebrgonin projektet e tyre m\u00eb t\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00ebsishme\u00a0 rrugore n\u00eb fushen e nd\u00ebrlidhjes rajonale.<\/p>\n

ADF established a database several years ago which was updated with the start of this project. The priority roads of municipalities are being financed by the World Bank and the Albanian Government through the ongoing funding with ADF as an implementing agency. As part of the same program, soon EBRD will approve another USD 50 million loan for road investment.<\/p>\n

    • Pogradec-Tushemisht Road<\/strong>\u00a0kontibuon n\u00eb nj\u00eb lidhje m\u00eb t\u00eb mir\u00eb nd\u00ebrkufitare me Maqedonin\u00eb dhe n\u00eb largimin e trafikut nga Bregu i Liqenit, projekti \u00ebsht\u00eb i koordinuar hap pas hapi edhe me programet e Qeveris\u00eb dhe t\u00eb Fondit Shqiptaro-Amerikan p\u00ebr zhvillimin\u00a0 e zon\u00ebs Drilon-Tushemisht si nj\u00eb model i nj\u00eb zhvillimi t\u00eb q\u00ebndrueshem.<\/li>\n
    • Qafe Thore-Theth Road\u00a0<\/strong>connects Theth, one of the most important alpine areas of Albania, with another road of good parameters. Currently, the road is very dangerous and hampers the development of tourism in this area. This road has been identified as one of the main priorities of the Masteplan of the Alps, supported by ADF over 2 years and approved by the Government in December last year. The master plan set up the basis of a long-term successful tourism development in the area.<\/li>\n
    • Fier-Seman Road<\/strong>\u00a0creates an optimal access to Fier municipality. The road passes through villages that are part of 100 villages program and offers a better access to Apollonia park, Fier. Fier Bypass investment and discussions about the design of a masterplan for the utilization of the entire seaside area, offers a great opportunity to attract tourist investments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Road design work has started in advance and now we are at the final phase. Projects have been funded by the Albanian Government with the intention to start using the investment loan immediately. The next spring, work will start in the three segments. Road design standards are optimally set for rural roads and urban roads, including all road elements such as sidewalks, lighting, etc.<\/p>\n

P\u00ebrve\u00e7 vler\u00ebs s\u00eb konsiderueshme t\u00eb financimit nga projektet e Bank\u00ebs; \u00a0mbi t\u00eb gjitha Banka ka qen\u00eb nj\u00eb partner shum\u00eb i r\u00ebnd\u00ebsish\u00ebm dhe afat-gjat\u00eb n\u00eb rritjen insititucionale t\u00eb organizat\u00ebs.<\/p>\n

      Word Bank has been a very important and long-term partner in the institutional growth of the organization. Jointly with the Bank, we have shifted from financing small-scale projects into important sectoral programs at the national level.Example of this are road programs, integrated urban development program in the South of the country etc. Cooperation with the World Bank's professional staffs has been a valuable combination for successful projects and has helped to increase and strengthen the ADF.
