The project of the road Berat-Poli\u00e7an to the Mali i Shenjt\u00eb is almost completed. The project has been carried out in the conditions of a limit mountainous terrain and the construction is placed on the existing road, which will resolve a number of problems related to the movement of vehicles and goods in this segment.<\/p>\n
As a project implemented by the Albanian Development Fund and with the support of the Albanian Government, which it has a great importance and impact on development of tourism, in order to reduce and ensure security in this segment. Moreover, the completion of the project will create investment opportunities in the area in the field of agriculture and livestock. Another aspect that it has particular importance in the area is religious tourism, where the yearly pilgrimage to the Tekke of Abaz Ali stands out with about 300-400 thousand visitors.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019The road is among the most desired by religious practicians, but not only, because it will positively affect tourism\u2019\u2019, states the major Ervin Demo, which shortens 7 kilometres, talking only 30 minutes to Abaz Ali's house.<\/p>\n
The investment will significantly affect the entire Region of Berat. Taking into account that the area has Mediterranean climate and quite a lot of natural beauty to enjoy in every season, inhabitants may take on new initiatives related to investments and development such as equestrian sports, skiing, etc. While locals take advantage from the easiness of movement and have seen the possibility of developing local touristic guides, in order to present the history and beauties of the area, visitors do not necessarily need anymore \u2018high sport vehicles\u2019 to explore the area.<\/p>\n
