{"id":3159,"date":"2018-07-23T20:31:53","date_gmt":"2018-07-23T18:31:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.albaniandf.org\/\/?page_id=3159"},"modified":"2023-07-18T08:41:58","modified_gmt":"2023-07-18T06:41:58","slug":"projekti-per-zhvillim-te-integruar-urban-dhe-turistik-pzhiut","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.albaniandf.org\/en\/projekte\/projekte-ne-zbatim\/projekti-per-zhvillim-te-integruar-urban-dhe-turistik-pzhiut\/","title":{"rendered":"Program for Integrated Urban and Tourism Development (PIUTD)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Buxheti: 63.8 milion\u00eb Euro<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Implementation period :\u00a0<\/strong>2017 &#8211; 2022<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funding:\u00a0<\/strong>World Bank<\/p>\n<p><strong>Geographical coverage:&nbsp;\u00a0<\/strong>3 Counties (Vlora, Berat, Gjirokastra) 4 municipalities (Saranda, Gjirokastra, Berat, Permet) and the tourism corridor of this region.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Beneficiaries:\u00a0<\/strong>92 thousand beneficiaries<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Project Objective:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Improving urban infrastructure, promoting tourism and strengthening institutional capacity to support tourism and the development of local economy in selected areas in southern Albania. The project will impact the development of the economy and improve living conditions in the southern region of the country.<\/p>\n<p>The project is founded by an activities package and its components are as follows:<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Project Components:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Component 1 - Urban Upgrading and Infrastructure Improvement<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This component will finance the design and the implementation of activities for urban development and improvement of municipal infrastructure in the cities\/towns of Saranda, Gjirokastra, Berat, and Permet.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>public spaces( ex: parks, squares, pedestrian walkways, etc);<\/li>\n<li>street network, inter-modal junction and associated infrastructure(ex: sidewalks, road crossings, street lights, bicycle lanes, bus stops, etc);<\/li>\n<li>restoration of selected heritage and improvement of facades in selected buildings;<\/li>\n<li>upgrade of tourism areas (ex: access roads, visitors centers, parking lots, tourist signaling)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Through this component will be financed the preparation of urban projects, feasibility study, engineering projects and supervision of construction projects. Underground infrastructure is part of this component too.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Component 2 \u2013 Tourism Centers Upgrading<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This component aims to improve tourism centers along the tourism corridor of Southern Albania. Main investments include: restoration of cultural heritage assets, improvement of infrastructure, preparation of  feasibility studies, site management plans, engineering projects and supervision of works.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Component 3-  Tourism market and product development<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This component will fund activities to improve municipal management and provision of services, as well as value chain development. This component is divided into two complementary components:.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Support in improving municipal services.<\/li>\n<li>Development of tourism products and value chain.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>During 2021, were realized 5 consultancies.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Expected results:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>rehabilitation of 100 thousand m\u00b2 public spaces;<\/li>\n<li>rehabilitation of 11 tourist sites<\/li>\n<li>5% increase in satisfied tourists in rehabilitated tourist sites;<\/li>\n<li>4 municipalities with improved management system and functional destination management partnership;<\/li>\n<li>rehabilitation of 14 km urban roads;<\/li>\n<li>19 km roads with improved lighting;<\/li>\n<li>pedestrian roads rehabilitation 16 km;<\/li>\n<li>5 site management plans;<\/li>\n<li>25 products developed with the support of destination management;<\/li>\n<li>20 trainings on increasing the capacities of municipalities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During this period, ADF has worked intensively with the World Bank team, Local Government Units and MUD in order to achieve the objectives of project implementation.<\/p>\n<p>During 2021, have been prepared a set of documents such as: project proposal and reprogramming, mainly of component 3, in close cooperation with the World Bank team.
