]]> The Albania Infrastructure and Tourism-Enabling Project is financed by the European Union through technical assistance and investments grants for a total amount of EUR 40 million, and by complementary sovereign loan of EUR 60 million facility provided by the EBRD to the Government of Albania. The Project is implemented by the Albanian Development Fund as executing agency  and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development . The EU grants are identified by the EU in close cooperation with the Albanian Development Fund.

Project Objective: Improving urban infrastructure, promoting tourism and strengthening institutional capacity to support tourism and the development of local economy in selected areas in southern Albania. The project will impact the development of the economy and improve living conditions in the southern region of the country.

Objective: The project aims to supply locals with hygienically clean water and provide acceptable fees for customers. This will be achieved through new water supply schemes. This program is one of the most serious initiatives of recent years.

Objective: Improve access to selected agricultural and tourism centers, and strengthen their municipalities’ capacity to manage their road assets.

The program is built on two main pillars: reducing the time and cost of travel with better and fast roads ; and the linkage with tourism centers and the access of agricultural producers to markets and agro-processing centers.
