Commune of Mesopotam

The commune of Mesopotam has an area of 24,000 hectares lying in a mountainous terrain. The 7290 residents of the unit live in the villages Mesopotam, Krane, Livinë, Dhrovjan Krongj, Velahovë, Sirakat, Pecë, Muzinë, Ardhasovë, Fitore, Kostar, Brajlat, Bistricë and Kardhikaq.


In general, the land is used for agricultural production and farming. Good opportunities for water supply can be found only in the villages Ardhasovë, Fitore and Kranë, which take water from Bistrica river. Other villages have difficulty in irrigating the lands, and therefore their main activity is livestock.
