Muncipality of Delvinë

The municipality of Delvinë, which includes the town of Delvinë and the villages of Sopot (Varfaj), Kakodhiq, Lefterohor, Rusan, Vllahat, Bamatat, Stjar and Vane, lies in an area of 5,387 hectares.

The population of 14,422 inhabitants is of the Albanian, Greek, Roma and Egyptian nationality. The population migration to larger centers like Saranda and Tirana has occurred at the same time with the migration of population towards Greece and Italy; however in the recent years there has been noticed a reversal of this trend.

The area is rich in water resources. Internal road infrastructure and the one that links the unit with other important centers or road, needs a lot of improvement. The network of drinking water supply for the city and the sewage and wastewater systems are functional, but many households in villages use septic tanks due to the lack of sewage wastewater network.
