On 15/02/2007 a mission of World Bank composed by Mr. Nadir Mohammed (Albania Country Manager), Radhika Srinivasan (Task Team Leader), Drita Dade (Project Officer), Paul Dean (Consultant Engineer) and ADF Executive Director Mr. Benet Beci, organized a field trip for a scheduled progress monitoring for the “Community Work Project II” financed by the World Bank. This 4 years project carried out by ADF, estimate a number of 321 300 beneficiaries till now.
During this trip they visited two sub-projects:
The first one was: “Reconstruction of water-supply in Gjipalë village”, in Durres Qark, completed during the 2005. This project has a number of 1082 beneficiaries.
The second visit was on the sub-project: “Reconstruction of road Fushë Krujë - Laç –Highway“, in the municipality of Mamurras, in Lezha Qark. The number of the immediate beneficiaries from this project is 4100 inhabitants, and also indirect beneficiaries are 11 quarters of the city, due to the connection it provides to the City center with the local market.
During the visit in Gjepalë the World Bank mission met with village residents and discussed about the operation and maintenance of the water-supply.
In the municipality of Mamurras they held a meeting with members of Counseling and Monitoring Group (CMG). During this meeting they discussed about the implementation cycle of the sub-project, the fiscal process, the eventual problems of land ownership, transparency of the project, the satisfaction regarding to the quality of the implementation.
