Three regional training sessions on the above issue were organized during Janury 2006 in Shkodra, Elbasan and Vlora. The participants to the training were invited from the LGU-s, selected out of the units identified in the Community Works II program, Designers/supervisors of the respective regions, Representatives from the REA-s of the 12 regions as well as technical and social staff of ADF. The total number of the participants in the three trainings was 110. The main objective of the training session was introduction to and training of the participants on environment protection procedures as defined by the PM of the ADF with the aim of preparation of the Environmental Management Plan with its two components, the Environmental Friendly Measures Plan and the respective Monitoring Plan. In addition to the main objective the program also covered a broader area as following: • Environment Protection and Social Policies in the WB projects, prepared by Drita Dade, representative of the WB on environmental issues in Albania.

• The requirements for VNM in Albania had to be presented by Ministry of Environment representative. Instead it was presented by the ADF staff (the environment specialist V.B.).

• A study case was prepared about the implementation of an Environmental Management Plan for two types of s-p implemented by the ADF and managed by the respective regional inspectors of the specific area.
