Project / Program Title: “RURAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT” |
Goal:
The Project aims at increasing the living standards and improving of the social and economic conditions of the population throughout all the regions of the country. To support especially the poorest groups which are the more vulnerable to the actual difficult social and economic situation of country. |
Objective:
 Improvement of small social and economic infrastructure of the rural areas of the country
Temporary employment of the local population and promoting of development of local activities. |

Project Description:
About 120 sub-projects was expected to rehabilitate the local small infrastructure of the rural areas. Sub-projects designed for rehabilitation include; rural roads, aqueducts, schools, public social and economic objects etc. The project is a continuation of the previous commitments of the Islamic Development Bank in the framework of poverty alleviation of the north-east areas communities, now extended to the all regions of the country. |

Consulting services in support of the Project progress
Sub-projects’ designing and supervision |

Local communities of the rural areas of intervention, the poorest social groupings |

Other comments:
The designed implementation period of the project was form 2001 to 2004. In fact, funding started in July 2003. The project has been characterized by the extension of the investments in almost all the territory of the country by not limiting it only to the north-east area as the previous Project. And also the project has been characterized by the progressive increasing of the average sub-project value in comparison to the previous funding of the funding agency, which brought the value to the average value of the ADF sub-projects |
