Today, at the ADF headquarters, the works contract on the reconstruction of "Gorice - Mbreshtan" road section was signed. On behalf of ADF, the contract was signed by Mr. Benet Beci, the Executive Director, and on behalf of Salillari Company, the contract was signed by Mr. Pellumb Salillari, the President of Company.
The cost of the works for the road reconstruction which will be initiated in June amounts at 205,905,360 Leks. The reconstruction of this road is a component of "Rehabilitation of the Secondary and local Roads" Program which is financed by World Bank, OPEC Fund for International Development and the Albanian Government. These works are expected to be accomplished over a period of eight months.
General information.
The road is 7.7 km long and lies from Ura e Gorices to Mbreshtan. This key road axis links the Commune of Velabisht to that of Sinja.
The road shall be paved within qualitative parameters. The road width for the first two kilometers shall be 7 m, whereas for the rest of the road, the width shall be 7.75 m.
The direct beneficiaries of this road construction are going to be 16 000 inhabitants living in Velabisht and Sinje Communes.The expected impacts of this crucial investment shall be the proportional reduction of the road travel time facilitating in this way the transport services as well as the quality of this service for the beneficiary communities. At the same time, this investment shall increase considerably the access to services and economic activities, regional markets and urban centers, thus influencing in the reduction of poverty and the socio-economic growth for the beneficiary communities.
Physical Condition: This road is in a deteriorated state which makes its traversing difficult by vehicles all over the year but especially in winter; consequently, the provision of the transport services for the inhabitants of the area where this road runs through has aggravated with the passing of years.
