From 2-5 November 2009, a group of experts from Albanian Development Fund as well as engineering constructors from the Albanian private construction sector, conducted a three day tour in Paris to visit the BATIMAT, the international building exhibition which is held every two years.

BATIMAT with an exhibition space area of 135,000 sqm displays thousands of products in the construction sphere from all over the world. Professionals of construction come to this exhibition to get more information on the innovations and technical solutions in engineering construction for sustainable development projects.

As a major catalyst for the spread of new developments, Batimat is also the venue where construction manufacturers choose to launch their technological innovations (see www.batimat.com) This year Batimat attracted more than 500,000 national and international visitors .

In the framework of the projects, which the Albanian Government in cooperation with the ADF is implementing all over Albania, the group from Albania held certain meetings with representatives of constructing companies which invest mainly in road infrastructure and in the construction of public buildings.

During these meetings, the Albanian investors displayed a great interest for the construction standards applied in Europe and beyond. The Albanian and international investors established contacts for future cooperation.
