From May 13th -14th at the premises of the ADF, was held the training course on the “Management of Quality and the project monitoring systems”.
This seminar is part of the ADF’s work plan for the year 2010 in the framework of the building the institutional capacities in compliance with the international practices of quality management.
The participants in this training session were introduced to the management standards according to ISO (The International Organization for Standardization) and which are applied in infrastructure projects. The trainers brought forth the best experiences of Egnatia Odos S.A. Company with its headquarters in Thessaloniki in Greece.
Being one of the leader governmental companies in the domain of project implementation and management in the road infrastructure, the trainers treated a series of theoretical and practical issues which will be beneficial to the ADF staff in their everyday work and in meeting the international standards in the infrastructure projects.
ISO is an International Organization for Standardization made up of the representatives from the national organizations for standardization from 158 countries. This Organization established in 1947 aims at setting international quality standards in different fields, including also the construction.

Another important part of this training was also the introduction to the project monitoring systems. This session dealt in details with the theoretical and practical aspect of the softwares which are used actually to monitor the infrastructure projects. The theoretical aspects in using the monitoring systems via Primavera, Microsoft Project, and GIS etc. were accompanied with their practical application through various tasks.
About 31 specialists from all the Departments and Units of the ADF were trained in this course. This training will serve the ADF staff to apply in the future quality standards in constructing according to ISO and to use efficient monitoring systems.
Setting international standards in the ADF’s work procedures has been and remains a priority of the institution’s midterm strategy and which aims at preceding the needs for development in the country.
