Today, at the ADF headquarters, the works contract on the reconstruction of "Valare-Erind" road section was signed. On behalf of ADF, the contract was signed by Mr. Benet Beci, the Executive Director, and on behalf of "Alb Building sh.p.k & 2T sh.p.k" Joint-Company, the contract was signed by the company’s Legal Representative, Mr.Odise Bresha.
The cost of the road reconstruction works which will be initiated in June amounts at 98,088,660 leks. The reconstruction of this road is a component of “Rehabilitation of the Secondary and local Roads” Program which is financed by World Bank, OPEC Fund for International Development and the Albanian Government. These works are expected to be accomplished over a six-month period.
General Information
The road section is 5.4 meters long and lies from the Valare Village Exit to the Erind Village Entry. This road axis connects the inhabited areas of Lunxheri commune and at the same time it facilitates the access to Zagori Commune.
The road shall be paved within qualitative parameters. Its two first kilometers shall be constructed with a road width of 4.75 m whereas for the rest of the road width shall be 4 m. The direct beneficiaries of this road construction are going to be approximately 3000 inhabitants living in the Communes of Zagori and Lunxheri. The expected impacts of this crucial investment shall be the proportional reduction of the road travel time facilitating in this way the transport services as well as the quality of this service for the beneficiary communities. At the same time, this investment shall increase considerably the access to services and economic activities, regional markets and urban centers, thus influencing in the reduction of poverty and the socio-economic growth for the beneficiary communities.
Physical Road Condition: This road has been extremely deteriorated. Currently it is a gravel road with a carriageway width of 3.5 meters. The difficulties encountered by road users in traversing this road have worsened the quality of the transport service provided for the inhabitants living in the areas where this road runs through.
