The Community Center of Shenkoll, on Thursday 27th May 2010 from 10.00 – 12.30 hours organized in its premises the activity of “Cultural Day”.

This activity was attended by Mr. Pal Dajçi, the Prefect of Lezhe Qark, representatives of the District Education Directorate, children and teachers from the 9th grade and middle school in Shenkoll, inhabitants from the villages in the vicinity as well as representatives of the Albanian Development Fund which has enabled the construction of this Center.

The activity was opened by Mr. Fran Rrokaj, the Chairman of the Commune. Mr. Benet Beci, the ADF’s Executive Director and Mr. Pal Dajçi greeted the participants in this activity. Further on the activity continued with an artistic program, exhibition, football match between the ADF team and Shenkoll. Prizes were awarded for the best painting, the best chess player as well as the Football Cup which was won by the Shenkoll team. The activity closed down with the voluntary cleaning of Tale Beach, preparing it for the new summer season.

The reconstruction of the Community Center in Shenkoll which was finished in May 2008 in the framework of “Community Works II “Project is co-financed by the Albanian Development Fund (through IDA funds) and the Commune of Shenkoll at a cost of 16 million leke. This center whose beauty comes more on the foreground because of the flower garden is equipped with internet hall, relaxing spaces for seniors as well as halls for learning foreign languages and a meeting hall. Currently the beneficiaries of this center are about 3500 inhabitants of all age groups.

The Albanian Development Fund which was invited in this activity as the implementing agency, in the course of the past years has financed 6 infrastructure projects at an overall cost of 185,000,000 leke. Whereas for the period 2009-2010, in the framework of Secondary and Local Roads Project, the ADF is implementing in Shenkoll Commune the subproject “Reconstruction of the Road Section ish-SMT Lezhe-Rrile”

Concerning the investments at Qark level, the Albanian Development Fund since its establishment in 1993 has accomplished 126 infrastructure projects in Lezhe Qark. Out of these investments, 60 primary infrastructure projects are carried out in the District of Lezhe.These investments consist in road up-grading, construction of water supply schemes, retaining wall drainage projects and social buildings (. Currently the ADF is implementing 3 road construction projects at a cost of 670, 500, 000 leke; namely these subprojects are “Reconstruction of the Road from Kallmet to Nenshat” “Reconstruction of the Road from Lezhe to Kallment” and “Reconstruction of the Road ish-SMT Lezhe-Rrile”.
