The Community Center of Gure i Zi, on Tuesday 2010 from 11.00 – 12.30 hours a.m. organized in its premises the activity of “Cultural Day”.

This activity was attended by authorities of Shkoder Qark, representatives of the District Education Directorate, children and teachers from the 9th grade and middle school in Gure i Zi Commune, inhabitants as well as representatives of the Albanian Development Fund which has enabled the construction of this Center.

The activity was opened by Mr. Broz Marku, the Chairman of the Commune. Further on the activity continued with an exhibition, visit of the fair on hand loomed textiles, the competition of the most beautiful flower, the kids’ fashion show which was the funniest part of the activity and the artistic program. The Jury awarded symbolic prizes for the best painting, flower and the winner of the fashion show. The activity was closed with the cleaning of the surroundings around the Community Center by high school pupils. The reconstruction of the Community Center of Gure i Zi which was finished in May 2008 in the framework of “Community Works II “Project is co-financed by the Albanian Development Fund (through World Bank funds) and the Commune of Gure i Zi at a cost of 14. 000. 000 leke. This center has got an internet hall, relaxing spaces for seniors as well as halls for learning foreign languages and performing activities. Currently the beneficiaries of this center are about 2700 inhabitants of all age groups.

The Albanian Development Fund which was invited in this activity as the implementing agency, in the course of the past years has financed 4 (four) infrastructure projects at an overall cost of 45,000,000 leke.

Concerning the investments at Qark level, the Albanian Development Fund since its establishment in 1993 has accomplished 166 infrastructure projects in Shkoder Qark. Out of these investments, 81 primary infrastructure projects are carried out in the District of Shkoder. These investments consist in road up-grading, construction of water supply and sewer schemes, public buildings and irrigation projects. The overall cost of the projects implemented in Shkoder District amounts at 1,200,000,000 leke. For the period 209-2010, the ADF is implementing 6 primary infrastructure projects at a cost of 355, 000, 000 leke. .
