Today at Gerdec at the premises of the 9th grade school, only a few kilometers away from the town of Vora, the activity titled “Donors’ Day” was organized.

About two years ago, this school was completely destroyed after the Gerdec tragedy. At present, due to the assistance provided by donors such as the Albanian Development Fund, Vodafone Albania, OSCE, the Municipality of Vore etc, the children of Gerdec can attend school regularly its premises which are reconstructed according to European standards.

Thanks to the investment made by the Albanian Development Fund, the 9th grade school of Gerdec is equipped with benches, tables and chairs for children and teachers and soon the work for the reconstruction of outdoor spaces and playing fields is expected to start. The other donors have provided this school with science laboratories, internet hall, special surroundings for pre-school kids, and a library.

The ceremony organized by the teaching staff was attended by the Ambassador of OSCE in Tirana, Mr. Robert Bosch, the Chairman of Vore Municipality, Mr. Fiqiri Ismaili, representatives of ADF, Vodafone Albania, the Albanian Red Cross etc. The talented children of this school had prepared a festive concert with songs, poems and dances for the participants at this event.
