Inagural ceremony for “Riconstruction of Berdice – Mali Hebaj road ”

On 18/04/2007, in Berdica Commune took place the inaugural ceremony for the reconstruction of Berdice – Mali Hebaj road, financed by IDA, inside the "Community Work Program II". 
In this event were present: Mr. Qerret Xhureta chef of Berdica commune and some members of his staff, Mons. Angelo Masafra, Mr. Benet Beci director of ADF, Mr. Tritan Brahimaj director of infrastructure and ADF inspectors of that region. Also were present representatives from Qark, members of Counseling and Monitoring Group (CMG), students, teachers and the residents of the region.
The road Berdice-Mali Hebaj is 1718 ml long and 3.5 m wide and connects Berdice with Mali Hebaj, and these two villages with the road Shkoder –Tirane. This road improves the transport system and also gives a direct opportunity to the community for better employment chances. Number of direct beneficiaries from this sub-project is 3095 residents.
Mr. Qerret Xhureta, thanked ADF and the World Bank for their continuous contribution and collaboration. He pointed out that their support was not seen only as a financial assistance, but what they most appreciated was the support in human resources, capacity building and the community involvement in every single steps of the project. In his discourse he also mentioned the importance that this project has for the commune and the residents of the area. After this meeting, that was held in the communes’ offices, all the participants proceeded to the new road Berdice - Mali Hebaj, when the Mayer cut out the symbolic ribbon for inauguration of the new road. Present on this event were also the local media.
